Hey fellow seekers! Thanks for stopping by...
We’re Sindhya and Matt, an American couple from Colorado addicted to traveling and living unconventionally. We sold nearly everything and left the US in 2015 to explore Southeast Asia. What was originally intended to be a fun six-month-long journey turned into nearly three years of slow traveling across eleven countries and living in two of them - Vietnam and Thailand.
We decided to pursue the concept for Why We Seek as a way to share our story and help others travel too.
Basically, we grew tired of the rat race, living for the weekend, playing the status game, and mindlessly consuming. We knew there had to be more to life, so we left!
Since then, we've spent three months each in both Bali and India, explored the ancient Khmer temples of Angkor Wat, motorcycled across remote areas of northern Vietnam, scuba dived WWII shipwrecks in the Philippines, trekked in the Himalayas of northern India, and we're currently living in Oaxaca, Mexico.
This blog is an attempt to prove that the world isn’t as scary as we’re led to believe and to convince you that there’s no shame in choosing a happier life full of adventure.
Here you'll find tips on budget travel, photography techniques, occasional rants, custom city guides, advice on living abroad, and where to find the best local food!
