29 Photos That Will Make You Want to Visit Hanoi, Vietnam

By Matt Forma Last Updated May 23, 2020

Hanoi is by far one of the best places to shoot in all of Southeast Asia. You could snap photos in Hanoi, Vietnam every day for a month and never tire of it. Fuel yourself with some bowls of pho and bun cha along the way and you’ve got the perfect recipe for creativity.

The Old Quarter is the heart and soul of the city, people have inhabited these narrow streets and alleys for over a thousand years. You can sense the history as you wander through the maze of it all. The French Colonial buildings, ancient pagodas, many lakes, and bustling traffic all mix to create a place that is unforgettable and unique in Asia. It’s as charming as it is chaotic, and that’s what makes it so compelling!

Sindhya and I chose to live in Hanoi for six months while teaching English abroad, and it was one of the best experiences we’ve had. It will always be our first home away from home. We got to know many friendly Hanoians during our stay and it’s one of those destinations that we can see ourselves returning to visit over and over again.

But enough with the explanation, this is a photo post, so here are 29 photos that will make you want to visit Hanoi, Vietnam!
